Hi, I was playing with the idea of using a PIC as a complete SMPS, so all it needs is an inductor and a couple of caps.
The PIC's push-pull FET outputs work fine as a buck converter with synchronous rectification.
I tried using a cheap 8-pin PIC as a Buck SMPS LED driver, that seemed to work ok, and also another circuit as a 5v to 3.3v Buck SMPS "regulator";
