New to this. Need to measure weight in a box for a project. Can't use a scale in traditional sense so I recently removed the strain gauges from a digital scale. I am trying record voltages from the gauges. I have read other post that the gauges have two outputs and you should not connect anything to ground; as this could fry the gauges. How to I collect data from devices, and once data is collect how do I use it to as the scale did?

You will need an op-amp to boost the signal from the gauge. That will give you a more measurable voltage. You then 'calibrate' the gauge with a known weight and you can do the math to figure on changes in voltage to weight ratios.
