I have a question about how to design a sqrt generator circuit where i input 4-bit binary number and get the result in XX.XX , i.e if i input is 0100 the output is 10.00

Hi,

Univac used to do square roots in the W register with a shift routine. This was back in the 1960's, so you may have a time getting information. I believe it was actually a 23 instruction (divide), but with a K of 7.
