Hi, I'm using a LM393 comparator which has two comparators in the IC. I'm only using one but have been told to tie the other "input" pins (5 & 6) to ground in order to avoid oscillation.

Is this correct? Thanks a lot - JDR04

 

That's what the datasheet (from TI) says.

 

per page 8 of the datasheet..

All input pins of any unused comparators should be tied to the negative supply
