I read a lot about UART. i can see that most of the application using PIC. I'm wondering is it possible to apply the theory of UART without using PIC and only using IC combinations?
A parallel-in serial out shift register, a couple of flip-flops, and some gates can be used to make a UART Transmitter. Similarly a serial in parallel out shif register, some flip-flops, and some gates can be used to make a UART receiver. It is how we used to do it before there was such a thing as a UART.I read a lot about UART. i can see that most of the application using PIC.
