Hi,
I am trying to construct a remote controlled switch. The ckt involves TSOP 1738. Can any TV remote be used as the transmitter(38kHz)??
I tried using a tv remote which i had but the output at the output pin of the TSOP always remains at 2.05 V!!
Can anyone plz help me with dis??

 

TV remotes use many frequencies up to 56kHz. There were 7 different TSOP17xx frequencies but it is not made anymore.

The TSOP1738 uses a filtered 5V supply. With no signal its output is 5V with almost no current. Its output goes to near 0V when it detects a burst of 38kHz.
