I'm pretty new to circuitry, but it would be great if someone could help me out a bit with this.

My project is to trigger several cameras at the same time.
For this I would like to use the Nano Arduino, shift registers and opto-isolators.
I'v drawn up what I think might be the correct layout for everything below, although I'm not sure if it's correct.

Components

• 1 x Arduino Nano V3.0 AVR ATmega328 P-20AU USB board 3.0
• 2 x Shift register 74HC595
• 4 x LTV847 optoisolator
• 6 x 16 pin DIP socket
• 16 x 220Ω resistor for the shift registers
• 16 x 120Ω resistor for the LEDs
• 16 x green LED
• 2 x 0.1 μF capacitor (maybe not required)
• 16 x 3.5mm Mono Jacks

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated

The circuit will not work, as the 1uF capacitor on the pins 12 of the 595's will block the pulses.

Not quite block the pulses, but pass them off to ground and attenuate them below logic levels.
