Hi guys,,,

Is Triac uesful to switch on/off DC load?? As far as i know, Triac is used for AC applications only!!!

A triac works on AC or DC. An SCR works only on DC.
AC is alternating DC.

 

But how is the Gate of the TRiac trigered for dc application?? is there any difference for triggering triac in dc or ac applications?
