hey i have some doubts about what would be the transient response(current) if an inductor is connected in series with a capacitor across a voltage source(DC)

here the confusion i have is as the inductor wont allow sudden change of current through it and the current through the inductor raises exponentially and as this current is passing through the capacitor would the capacitor start charging?

if the capacitor starts charging then how would the current in the circuit vary?

I threw together a "quickie" simulation in LTSpice to get you started.

Download/install LTSpice.
Then double-click on the attached file to open it. Run the simulation, and click on the wire connected to "Out".

You can zoom in and out on the plot.

Try different values for L and C.

Try changing the input from a pulse to a sine wave at different frequencies.
