What is the make and model of the tape deck?

 

A deck isn't really being used, in any particular way. I am mainly using a sine generator, op amp, and a transformer - and sending it to a tape head.

 

How are you pulling the recording tape across the head?

 

Either manually or by placing it against moving tape.

What are you trying to accomplish?

 

I would like to record onto tape.
It doesn't have to sound particularly "good" - but I would like it to have some resemblance to the original signal.
After some more experiments, I think the issue is the pressure of the record head-to-tape. I'll experiment some more with it.
