need help for converting sine wave into a sharp ramp wave for a project
i have used a zero crossing detector & an integrator but the output becomes
exponential.Thus need help with this.

Hello,

Did you use a resistor to charge the capacitor for the ramp ?
Then it will be exponential as you say.
When you use a constant current source the ramp will be a straight line.

Greetings,
Bertus

PS as Bill said a schematic will help a lot to clearify.

As B & B have asked, If you will post a circuit of what you are using then we can better assist you.

it is a project that my sir wants to do in the college & he has not provided any circuit. he wants a project that can trigger a device for a chosen degree of phase angle.first he wants to convert any sinewave applied to the i/p into a ramp from 0 to 180deg.then he wants to compare it with the output of a counter using which we can increment or decrement the required degree of phase angle.i will ask my sir to provide a ckt diag but pls help with the initial stage the sir expects a lot from my group so i have to finish the project as soon as possible.thanks for all those who have replied:)

Are you sure it isn't you yourself who is supposed to create the schematic?
i had tried to make one but sir told me there were some mistakes so he will make the corrections. The ckt contains a combination ckt and i am not getting it right. So i and my sir both are trying to make a schematic.
