Yngwie Malmsteen was a GOD on guitar, and Mr. Big was some kind of soft rock... Think they both are one Youtube. Try it.

About the Tesla Coil, I have no idea...

 

It seems plusible, like a giant version of a plasma speaker (in the process of building one ) , if you had multiple they could be used to fill in gaps between discharges to produce constant sound....
idk, guess someone will just have to try
