Thin film sensor alarm

I have been messing around for a few weeks trying to improve on a basic fishing alarm (one that uses a revolving wheel with magnets that opens and closes a reed switch). This doesn't offer the sensitivity that I'm looking for, as a slack line doesn't move the roller wheel. I have however designed an idea that creates a slight movement/vibration when a slack line occurs. I would therefore like to register this vibration in an alarm & LED circuit. I have found a perfect example of what I would like to achieve on YouTube, but do not have the technical knowledge to recreate. I have managed to build with a standard piezo element, but the thin film sensor is another story. Could somebody please help with the circuit diagram.

My basic fishing alarm is a small bell screwed onto an alligator clip.

You just attach it to the rod tip when bait casting on a dead stick.
