Hello folks! How can i find the current and voltage across every component on this circuit using thevenin's theorem. http://img440.imageshack.us/img440/9552/diodecircuiteq2.png Someone said that i should verify to see if the diode conducts any current first. How do i work out everything?
hgmjr helped me with a similar problem last week, http://www.facstaff.bucknell.edu/mastascu/eLessonsHTML/Source/Source2.html This wasn't the website he showed me, but about half way down the page you should get a hint towards how to find the equivalent of both the voltage and resistors.
You can first, replace the diode by any resistance. And then find the voltage and current across it by applying Thevinin's Theorem. If diode is on for the resulting voltage, the voltage across A and K may be correct.
