Thermostats are switches which turn on or off at a given temperature. They are adequate for roughly maintaining an approximate temperature. These are inexpensive.
Thermistors (thermally dependent resistors) change their resistance as temperature changes. Constant current through them results in a voltage either proportional or inversely proportional to temperature. They can be a part of a more complex control system.
Thermocouples produce a tiny voltage in very accurate proportion to the temperature. These also can be part of a more complex and very accurate control system.
If a thermostat won't provide an even enough control, a "PID" system (Proportional - Integral - Derivative)can be used to "predict" when the cooling system should turn on and off. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PID_controller
How tight a control is needed for your cooling system? (And how cold will it go? Most thermostats and thermistors wont work for super-cold temperatures. Some thermocouples will.
not that super cold sir..
im livin in the tropics.. so temperature here ranges from 30-36 degrees celcius..a bit hot
and i will be using misting for my cooling system..should i use thermostats?
