# The full-wave diode bridge rectifier

Hello there
I have homework on a full bridge non controlled rectifier
Task A asks me to find some values,the thing is i get confused on the info given for this bridge,
It says that the input voltage to the bridge Vs is sinusoidal with RMS value of 25V at 50Hz and the Load is 10ohms,
what confuses me is that i don't know wether the rms is given is the Vrms or just rms,the first value i need to find is the dc value of the output voltage,i know which equation to use but not how to find the Vmax from the info given,can someone help me a bit on Vmax?

This statement means nothing....in your question its given 25VAC RMS input and RMS is 0.707 of Peak i.e.. Vmax

$25 = 0.707 * Vmax$

$Vmax = {25\over0.707}$

$Vmax = 35.36$

You did not say that the rectifier feeds a smoothing capacitor so the output voltage has a lot of up and down ripple at 100Hz.
