The forum is running slow like it does at this time of nite.
It take forever to submit.

I have also experienced a huge increase in page load and submit times.

This has resulted in a few server not responding errors.

It is different than the normal 2am maintenance that occurs daily.

 

Same thing here. 'Server not found' occurs multiple times during my time here. a click on reload in the browser usually brings it back up, but it is occuring very frequently the last few days.

 

I 'm OK for the most part. I think I had only one timeout yesterday. I have much bigger problems with other sites.
I think my ISP is at its limit. Could we experience an Internet Badnwidth Saturation any time soon? I don't mean of course that we 'll run out of adresses. IPv6 took care of that.
But what if the ISPs don't upgrade their equipment fast enough?

 

It has been happening for a few weeks, but seems to be getting worse. Like I said earlier, it isn't on a schedule. The numbers of people using may have something to do with it, but that is a guess.

 

I think in long run with all time zones it could hurt Interaction.
I had I poster tell me its 2011 already,waiting for a reply.
I was hitting the submit button trying to respond. There no
way another member can know,log off and come later.
That breaks up the thread and interest. The tech problem
is occuring more often.The worst time for me is 2 a.m. eastern,
the forum is busy 24/7. A lot of members are on line for a lot
reasons snowed in, retirement,time zones. I have reached out to
International visitors for along time,the forum has let us interact
and has made the Forum homepage,with the online time spent
on the Forum members don't have time to do much more.
Member we need to alert more often to help Adm's solve
the problems. I want the Adm's to notice that Greece
is apart of this post,can we get more countries on line.

It acts like the 2am maintenance from around roughly 10pm to 3am. I haven't noticed HUGE lag times outside those hours, but it has happened as early as 8pm for a short time, and occasionally in the daytime (around now or a few hours ago)

To me....it's kinda OK

But it does take a few secs to submit or save changes

 

6:30 eastern the forum is running slow,anyone esle in another time zone
having problem.The moderators need to know to correct problem.
Not slow enough not to worry about this a.m.,just for f.y.i.

 

The rash of double posts we've been getting is a direct consequence of the lag. I've had it happen to me. I know enough to delete the extra post, but people with under 10 posts do not have that option.

Thanks all for your comments, and I apologize for the slow-response. There was a rogue cron script that was _really_ lagging the server over the past week+, but that I finally caught the bug and it was fixed a few days ago.

However, when my Christmas holidays starts and I have the time, I'm going to be either getting some much needed upgrades to the server, or we'll be moving to a new box. I will keep everyone up-to-date when this happens.
