I am wondering whether The On Semi/Fairchild 2N3904 transistor my authorized electronics distributor is receiving was likely made on the same production line as the ones made by Fairchild a few years ago.

Does anybody know or have an idea of how to dig up this information. I guess I could write to On Semi but I will try for a faster response from this forum.

 

My old 2N3904 transistors have extra numbers engraved that might say when or where they were made. My 2001 RevA Fairchild datasheet does not mention the numbers.
