hi.
im having a promblem setting up a tank circuit
im connecting a non polarized capacitor to a choke coil
and energizing it with 12 volts and im connecting it to a
oscillope and im not getting nothing.
please tell me what im doing wrong please!!!!!.

Hello,

A bare tank circuit will not do much.
It is the circuit that drives it that makes it an oscillator.

I am trying to do exactly the same thing as you. I did in fact connect it to an oscilloscope today and I got oscillations. But alas they lasted milliseconds.

It will be very helpful to you if you read my thread as it has a lot of information on what you are trying to do as well as my own progress.
