Hello....I am new to this forum and I am interested in building a tachometer also using the LM2917. I have tried the Voltage Driven Meter Indicating Engine RPM circuit that there is on the IC's datasheet. The only variation I am doing is that I am applying it to a 4 cylinder engine. But when I tested it the voltage did not vary that much...from 2.7V to 1.8V even though I varied the revs from idling to 4000 RPM.

Any Help?

Hello thanks for your reply. I am sorry I didn't reply very soon. Just to tell you that I solved the problem. It seemed that I had a ground missing on one of the pins. Then I connected the circuit as it should be and everything worked properly. 10x very much for the help and I'm sorry with the threads issue but I am new to this forum.
