Ok, I need a good cordless soldering Iron.

I have used several butane ones and those work great for about a month. The last one I bought no longer heats up and can barly melt the solder even on it's highest setting, and no it's not the tip - I know how to keep a sloder iron clean and tinned. I do have a Weller brand butane one that still works great, but it is a bit big and bulky for what I need, I need something smaller.

I am now looking at the battery powered ISO-TIP brand rechargables. Are these any good?

    Whats your favorite cordless?

    Thanks for any suggestions.

Some of the butane units I have owned have been outstanding. Excellent temperature control, good flow. My 2¢.

Look at the Radio Shack model, it is about the size of a conventional iron. It has been relabled of course, betcha Weller makes it too.
