a discussion came up about sorting wires (14ga-18ga) in field for irrigation wires due to damage.
they are commerically available but i would like to build one using a toolbox for the base and plug all of the wires into ports then run the sequence with an irrigation remote control.
the idea being that a bundle of wires, up to say 45 (the capacity of the remote) could be sorted at one time by assigning each wire a port, when the wire was activated at the controller by the remote an LED would light up at the port and a number could be assigned.
on a smaller level this is what this sorter does
