I can't get this Cheap PIC Programmer to work and I've double checked my wiring several times. I just wanted to make sure that I'm not losing my mind here. When I look at the pinout of the PIC looking at the TOP of the IC the pins go down the left side 1,2... and up the right side 10,11... right? In other words the pinout is looking down on the top of the PIC and not Up at the underside? Thanks for helping me keep my sanity.

 

Yes, that's right. Semicircle notch at the top. Often there is also a dot over pin 1.

 

Thanks for the reply. I finally got the stupid thing working. I was looking at the pinout of the DB9 from the front instead of the back. What a noob I am.
