Dear Forum,
I am using the attached circuit for firing a pulse coil. I would like to replace the Xenon Flash Tube with an SCR to lower the series resistance.
Can anyone suggest how to do this?

I tried the attached, but the neon stays on, and won't oscillate.
Any suggestions?
How about replacing the neon with a DIAC?
