Does anybody know what a "special" resistor is?

Not exactly snake oil. It's good to put some resistance in series with each side of a stereo signal before you mix them together. I use 1k, but there's nothing "special" about them.

 

what does it used for ?
for cell phone earphone wire?

 

Basically yes cell phone to earphone that goes to a receiver http://www.audioimplements.com/Receivers.html IFB through cell phone for on camera people. The funny thing is their "regular" cable does the exact same thing it's only tip and ring but works on iphones and Blackberrys That's why I put snake oil!!!!

Have a look at the schematic in post 4 of this thread. I actually built this circuit and use it regularly.

without the resistors, one chanel can get into the negatvie feedback for the other chanel. the resistors isolate the channels.
