When something is spam, or just out of place, click
and type in a short explanation of what is wrong with the thread/post.

The mods are pretty quick about addressing any issues.

Hello,

To get the attention of the mods, we have the report button
.
This can be used to report spam, dangerous behavior, wrong placed posts.
The indicated post has been moved to the homework section.

Sometimes a thread is in the wrong place, or is spam in one form or another. Could this thread be used to alert moderators, instead of PM'ing them individually or ignoring the issue until they notice it? It would be like this thread on AVRFreaks.net: http://www.avrfreaks.net/index.php?name=PNphpBB2&file=viewtopic&t=92448

For example, I suggest moving this to the homework forum:
http://forum.allaboutcircuits.com/showthread.php?p=303462
Having a thread would only be, at best, as good as using the alert options. The advantange of the alert option is that it alerts us even if we are not on-line or have not been hitting the refresh button on the "alert thread". Before the move to vBulletin we had a thread like that which worked well for the system we had then; we've spent a lot of time tweaking the current system and would advise that members use the features available as it gives us the best way to give you the best spamless and random-post-less experience. Our current system are set up such that if you alert us to just one post we can deal with a range of contraventions in an expedient manner.

If there in an issue with the current system, let us know and we will correct it or, if need be, explore other options at that time.
