Sound Activated LEDs

Hi I am working on a project to make multiple towers of LEDs that are sound activated to use for live set ups in DJ gigs. I am rather new to circuits but have been toying around with the Velleman MK103 kits. I basically need help with figuring out how to power more than just the four LEDs from the kit. I tried just wiring out to additional LEDs but they are not powered very well, and I would prefer to run each tower off of one MK103 if possible. Any help would be appreciated. Here is the circuit diagram for these boards:

What color LED's are in the kit. Essentially you will need a much larger voltage source.
How many LED's would you like to power with each kit?

The kit comes with four 5mm diffused red LEDs, and I want to power about 25 to 30 5mm blue LEDs with each kit.

A 24V or 36V supply could be used for both the LEDs and the control board. A few passive components on the control board would have to be changed but the transistors are rated for 45V so they can handle the higher voltage. If you have one of the MK103 kits unassembled, you can set up the circuit on a breadboard and test the modifications with the new power supply.

You will need to wire the new LEDs in series strings of 5 or 6 for a 24V supply or more for a 36V supply. Each string of LEDs will need a current limiting resistor and you'll need an appropriate driver transistor either as a substitute for T4 or driven by it.
