Sorry to hear about your dad. But I still can't believe a kid is fixing a rear projector

 

I have repaired everything from VCRs, DVD players, stereos, water pumps, heaters, garage door openers, computers, laptops, phones, cameras, and much more, fixing TVs isnt too surpriseing (At least to me its not) but thanks, and thanks for all the help you have provided

 

btw, i also checked the coolant condition of the green tube, its fine, so that eliminates one cause, I will try the adjustments stated in the service manual a little later today, thanks

sorry been busy lately with school, I am not busy today so i will work on the tv today

 

I was going through the service menu trying to see if i could adjust the pincushioning from there, and i noticed that none of the settings affect the tubes... the settings for the green blue and read tube, the cent, skew, pin, lin, size, and key settings do not change anything... is that bad? it seems like it may be a firmware issue or a hardware failure..

(btw, i have all the service mode's original settings written down)

 

call it a hunch....

There is a shorted transistor somewhere...this I guarantee..

Try probing the transistors for short.
