I want to control a solenoid and its rating is 2A. I am using MOSFET for it but it is getting heated after 1 hour. Its holding current is also high as 1.5A.

Is there any solution for this?

It would only be a guess without your schematic. Does the mosfet have the correct size heatsink for the current handling it is doing? Is it possible to leave the solenoid off after it does its job?
