Back on my lighthouse, I'm going to be rewiring a 12V solar system so we can place the batteries out of a public area. Does anyone know of some good online references for low voltage systems? Items such as system grounding, outlet types, battery connections, and other safety concerns are needed.

In lieu of online resources, a book notation would be good too.

Anything I find online seems to pertain to "wiring batteries in series or parallel" or for alarm systems, not power systems such as this.

This is pretty dry reading and many parts of it will not apply to a 12 volt system, but it does contain some very important details about keeping any installation up to code.

If I come across a good tutorial on setting up a 12V system I will post it here.

I've yet to see anyone use a plug and socket on a 12V power system, so the only system I have seen are those horrible "cigarette lighter" units.
