Hi all members,

I want to use a smps to power a large display. The display use 12v@4Amps.Can anybody please tell me how to turn on the smps without a pc. Which wires on the smps do i need to connect to start the smps and also, is there some more things to do to use the smps as a psu.

I live in South Africa and thanks for the advise.I would still wanted to know what terminals on a computer supply you have to bridge to enable it to start on it's own. SA supply is 240vac.

To start the PC PSU without the PC, you need to connect the Enable Wire (the green one, usually, mind it, there should be only one green wire) to Ground (the black ones, connect the green one to any one black one). Done. Your power supply is ready to go.
