I am working on a project to motorize a small drive shaft that requires a differential style mechanism, the size you would expect on a go-cart etc.
Searched many ads, but they turn out to be solid axles.
Anyone know of something along available along these lines?

I also use riding lawn mower parts. Often, I can get a differential rearend with tires and a forward/reverse lever in one piece. Some have a more complicated transmission. I can get dead mowers for free.

I think I have one of these in the barn. There is a 4 hole bolt pattern that goes into a frame. I use "stop sign metal" for a frame.
They are on the new market, but I find they are free on the scrap pile.

 

Golf carts have differentials.

 

All of the competitive go Karts that I have seen or driven have a live axle, not a differential. I am not sure about "Funny Cars" or the "Top-Fuel" cars with the 3000 HP engines, I never drove one of those yet.
