Siren (Ademco747) 12vdc, 400mA
Have two of these, which I plan to mount in two separate areas.
a.) approx. <75 feet, b) <100 feet, plan to use 18ga wire.
hi Wayne,
The wire sizes look OK.
Ref item 4: a 12V 300mA siren would be OK.
Do you mean the type of ultrasonic sensor that detects movement.?
If yes, I have never found them to be 'stable', especially outdoors, my preference would be a another PIR.

Is there a reason why you think a u/sonic would be better, what is the area you are trying to cover.

Hi Eric,

Great I'll set about ordering an assortment of smaller parts so hopefully I will have every thing I might need to finish this.
And have some parts for testing.
Yes, when something interrupts it, I've seen those as well as a laser setup mentioned.
This could have been for the second circuit, or for another third location,
that has light interference ie; sun, tree movement, birds, and people walking close,
but on the outside. sensor would be installed inside. distance approx. 28 feet.
If you have additional thoughts, please don't hesitate to bring them to my attention.

Thank you, have a wonderful weekend!

hi Wayne,
When you get all the parts including the wiring, I would suggest you try to use the actual cable lengths for a system pre-test before laying and clipping the cables.
At the Siren end you could use a 12Vdc 'beeper' in place of the siren while you are testing.

Hi Eric,

Yes, I was thinking the same, always easier on the ground, than up a ladder.
Did you have an opinion about a small laser sensor?

Thank you.
