I know there are Solid State Relays to pass AC but is there way to wire up a single FET to block AC current when the FET is off?

I know I can use a single one to pass that AC current but that inherent diode in the FET won't completely block AC current in both directions.

Any way around that with one FET? Been trying to figure out a few tricks but can't.

And no I don't want to use anything else. Just want to see if this is possible.

Yes.

I can make one FET pass AC when it is on but the issue is only when it is off does it not complete block AC. Is there anything I can do to get around that while using only one FET?
