Hi can someone explain the difference in the generation of modified and true sine waves??
I think the modified sine wave is essentially the sine wave created through PWM and is less desirable due to harmonics but not so sure about the generation True sine waves.

A modified sine wave is basicaly still a block wave, but in time altered.

True sinewave are most times not as efficient, as there are paower amplifiers needed,but will have hardly any hamonics.
A SPWM is more efficient, when carefully designed the harmonics will also be very less.

Thanks. With regard to the actual method of generation for the true sine wave how is this done, what are the main conversions/components required to obtain these pure sine waves??
