My guess is that there will be no DC present so no need for the caps.
Regarding the difference caused by the 2nd source connected or not, if it is unplugged the output will be higher than if it is plugged because it will be attenuated, voltage drop over the series resistor in source 1 shunted to ground by the series connection of 2nd source resistor and the output impedance (resistance) of the 2nd source.

Go for the active mixer, if made properly there will be no difference if 2nd source is connected or not.

Use a low noise opamp, you can most likely buy a kit at any good dealer at reasonable low cost, maybe 10 USD.

Don't use a 741 opamp for audio. It is 42 years old.
It is noisy and has poor high audio frequency response above only 9kHz.

Instead use an audio opamp like a TL071 single, TL072 dual or TL074 quad that are low noise and have response to 100kHz.

Hi AUDIOGURU,
I use it because I'm 55 years old.

I am 64 years old and I can still hear frequencies much higher than a 741 opamp goes.
A 741 has trouble above only 9kHz.
I use TL07x opamps that are low noise and have good response to 100kHz. They are inexpensive.
