The CAN node will turn off its outputs if it loses comms with the master. We are getting periodic "blips" in this connection and the commensurate blips from the outputs.
One CAN node output is tied to a PCB mounted relay and the PCB relay is sending 24V to another relay (the "middle relay"). The middle relay has 110Vac across its contacts and is holding in a large contactor.
Can I band-aid this with a large cap to hold in the middle relay to ride-through the momentary 24V power loss?
I'd guess the 24Vdc load of the middle relay as less than 100ma. It's just a simple ice-cube type relay - 4PDT. The ride-through time would be less than 1 second.
Thanks.
