Hello, I want to make a dc to ac converter for some future projects I have in mind. I've looked around and don't know what kind to use. I plan on using it to convert 12v dc to 12vac etc.

Thank you

hi bis,
What frequency for the AC out and current rating.?

What 'quality' [ Form Factor] do you require for the AC out waveform.?

Hey, thank you for replying.

At this point I would prefer around 50-60hz, it can be square/sine wave since I'm really just experimenting with different designs at this point. Also would like at least 5a output although current rating is not a big deal at this point since I just want to learn about the concept first.

Thanks :)

If you are not worried abotu the wave shape, yo can use a 555 timer as "astable oscillator" with approx 50:50 duty cycle, then just put a big cap in series with the output.

Then you will have a 50 Hz AC squarewave on the other side of the cap.
