Does anyone know of a cheap water or air pump? I need to move water from a reservoir up about 2' to another container. Any and all ideas are greatly appreciated!

You mean two feet, right? 24"?

How much water do you need to move, and what kind of batteries were you thinking of powering it with?

Even small sealed lead-acid batteries would quickly "run out of juice" if they were asked to empty a 55 gallon drum to a tank higher up via a pump.

I would like to use a 9v batt. the pump will run no longer then 5 min. at a time, once or twice per day. water flow can be minimal

Everything is dependent upon the amount of water (litres/min.) you want to move and how high (head) you want to lift it. Gravity is working against you when lifting water. Even a small (25 litres/ min.) boat bilge pump takes ~ 3 amperes @ 12 VDC., so consider the application and voltage source carefully when making a selection.

Cheers, DPW [ Spent years making heaters out of op-amps.]
