Hey everyone!

Just joined this forum. I was actually looking for something like this, which would help me clear some doubts regarding my electronics coursework.

I was reading about SOI mosfets and I came across the 2 types : Partially depleted and fully depleted..

I googled out these terms and read about it from a few sources, but unfortunately I could not make any sense out of it..

So please explain in lucid terms what FDSOI and PDSOI mean? I seriously have no clue.. Any help is appreciated.. And btw, what exactly is getting depleted here? And is there any advantage of one over the other?
