No current limiting required.
Use this formula as a rough starting point:

time constant (seconds) = R (ohms) x C (farads)

for example,
200Ω x 1μF = 200μs = 0.2ms
500Ω x 1μF = 500μs = 0.5ms
1000Ω x 1μF = 1000μs = 1ms
10kΩ x 1μF = 10000μs = 10ms
