sending data of time remaining from PC (using VB) to PIC via serial port

Hi there!

I have a question regarding sending a data from PC to PIC microcontroller through serial port.

There is a VB 6.0 program on the computer, where the user would input how much time he/she wanted to. The code of the said program is made similar to a countdown timer. And then I wanted to send that data to the PIC microcontroller through serial port.

Is it possible? And how easy or hard would it be?
