    Hi there!

I have a question regarding sending a data from PC to PIC microcontroller (PIC16F877) through serial port.

There is a VB 6.0 program on the computer, where the user would input how much time he/she wanted to. The code of the said program is made similar to a countdown timer. And then I wanted to send that data to the PIC microcontroller through serial port.

Is it possible? And how easy or hard would it be?

Thanks so much for the indispensable help

If I understand you post correctly you need to do the following:

    1. Have a form with a VB text box that you can enter a time into and clock OK or move to another field 'lost focus'.

    2. On 1 start a timer event.

    3. When timer expires (stop timer) and use the MSCOmm1 control to send some text to the PIC.

What part are you having a problem with?
