Hi i have my exams coming up and in my notes i can't find inclusive answers to this questions so please help.
1. why is it , when switching semiconductor devices,that it is sometimes desirable to force them to switch between on and off states as quickly as possible.
2.in a mosfet how does the gate drive impedance affect turn on and turn off times. Thanking you studenttwo34.

I'm moving this to the Homework section, which is where it belongs.

I'll give you a major hint for the first problem. Figure the power generated generated by the two states, on and off.

P = V X I

Now figure the power when it is partly conducting, say 47Ω.
