I've been given a TV that was part of a security system.
When I get it in the daylight I'll get some numbers for you guys.

My question now is: What's the difference between the Security Monitor, and a real TV set?
Is the Security monitor capable of becoming real TV set?

If yes, I'll come back with numbers.

If no, but it can be used for something else, I'll also come back with numbers.;)

A tuner

You could add a tuner too convert the signal from the antenna into
a video signal which the monitor could display. Now that there was the
recent analog-to-digital switch, you should be able to use a converter
box --- at least the one I got has a composite video output which should
work with a security monitor.

If I understand you correctly, I can get the Reciever box from the Sattalite (Dish network) and connect the two and have a TV set?
Thank you for that.

As long as they use the same type of signal, sure. Since composite video is
pretty standard, it sounds pretty likely they will both use it, but you might
want to double check before getting the receiver box.
