Scr Cap circuit blew out resistor

Okay, so my one resistor just popped and a little puff of smoke came out. I'm no expert but I KNOW that wasn't supposed to happen. Heres a pic of my SCR circuit.

Basically theres a 9v reversing polarity source. So when its one polarity its charging the capacitor, then when polarity reverses, the capacitor discharges through the solenoid. Or at least thats what I'm hoping. So did I make a mistake? is this not going to work? or should I change how I went about doing this circuit? Any and all helps is greatly appreciated!
