I'm working on a project in which I've been asked to describe, in layman's terms, the condition of "Saturation-Driven Neutral Instability during Inrush Period" as it relates to the switching of overhead wye-delta transformer banks. In particular, I will be talking about why it is important to ground the floating neutral of the wye-delta bank before switching. I currently only have a vague understanding of this topic; any help would be much appreciated!
