Router auto-reset

I'm trying to create a device that will reset my router that is hidden in the basement once a day. I am thinking about using some type of 555 circuit to create a 10-20 sec HI pulse that will occur once every 24 hrs. The pulse will activate a reed relay that will temporarily disconnect the power going to the router. I also want to be able to use a switch to create a pulse immediately.

I've created some timing circuits with a 555 before, but never one that needs to repeat after a set amount of time. I'd rather not have to use a microcontroller to do this if possible.

I'm planning on powering the device from the line that I'm disconnecting (eg. input power somewhere in range of 5-18v. I have three devices that I want to make modules for. All with different voltages.)

Any ideas or pages that might be able to give me some pointers?

Thanks!

Conventional lamp timers would get you going a lot faster and cheaper. You can get them for about $5 with a programmable digital clock and control.
