I have about 2000 black, pcb mount, right-angle, RJ-11 jacks left over from a project surplus buy years ago.

Similar to this (black connector only, no board):

    Hi,

Look nice, i could have used a few of them, but certainly not that many.
Maybe you could sell them off in packs of 5 or 10 and therefore sell them off little by little.

Question: does a standard 4 pin telephone RJ11 plug fit in one and make proper contact to four of the prongs?

Yes. Note, what I have is just the black connector, not the PC board assembly. Plugs RJ11 (two-wire), RJ14 (four-wire), and RJ25 (six-wire) all use the same six-position connector body and fit this jack.

RJ11 is the connector for the phone line, as opposed to the handset. That one is smaller, 4-pins only, and is referred to as RJ9, RJ11, or RJ22 - although it has no official designation.
