Funny how you remember things….Sunday’s, after Church…we had an hour or two of uninterrupted TV time while a large meal was being prepared. That meant…Wrestling…and that also meant seeing Bruno Sammartino. He knew all the holds and he was always a good guy as I remembered…and, of course, on TV, he always won.
OK, it could be argued that simulated ultra-violence is not the best influence for our young. But I swear, except for a few full nelsons and a couple of iron claws, none of us did any permanent damage.
RIP Mister Sammartino, you brought some excitement and many a smile to us.
